There are 3 ways to reach the Corcovado train station:
1 – TAXI
Here are some tips:
- Ask at the front desk of your hotel. Accredited taxi is always more reliable.
- If you prefer to order a taxi by using some of the apps that serve the city, here are the most commonly used: 99Taxis and Easy Taxi. If you are not on your phone, download one of them before traveling. In addition to reliability, you can pay the fare with your credit card.
Times of worst traffic when you can sit still in traffic jams are from 7: 30h to 10: 00h and 17: 00h to 19: 00h.
2 – SUBWAY
It is also a good option if you are near a station.
Go to the nearest subway station buy your round-trip ticket. Hop on a train line 1 (train with red side light), get off at the Largo do Machado station. Save the map of the lines of the Rio Metro to your phone. It will be useful to help you find the station where you are and know what direction to take the train .
To exit the platform, follow the signs to the integration Express bus. Then look SAIDA “A” (EXIT “A”) – “Largo do Machado” – ONIBUS EXPRESSO (Express Bus).
Exiting the station go to the left and the Integration Bus Cosme Velho (580) stop, is on the right.
Pay the ticket to the bus driver.
I tried to gather here all the information you will need to understand and use the Metro without problems. Check it out.
3- BUS
You can also take a bus from the place where you are staying to the Station of Corcovado, at Largo do Machado.
To help you, I advise you to use a very interesting application that has being indicated by the Rio City Hall because it is frequently updated any time there are rerouting of the bus lines. It’s called “Moovit”
Moovit
Download the app for Android or iOS.Have your mobile GPS on.
From the home screen a blue dot locates your position. Click “Get Directions/Find a Line” and enter the address where you want to go.
Attention: is very important that on the next screen, you click where it says “Options” and in the window that opens select “Less transfers” which will avoid routing you on too many bus exchanges.
Click “Let’s Go“. Then you may choose the best option, which is usually the first. one.
The app guides you to the nearest bus stop, tells how long the route is, accompanies you in every step indicating each stop, warns you with audible signal when you should get off guiding you to your exact destination.
