BRT – RIO DE JANEIRO
The BRT is a articulated bus with air conditioning, which takes a selected route straight to the destination, with no stops therefore making the trip a lot faster.
It is also cheaper granted your destination is Barra da Tijuca.
The line TransCarioca Express (Semi-Direct) connects direct RIOgaleão the Alvorada Terminal, located in Barra da Tijuca, with 3 stops: Fundão Terminal, Vicente de Carvalho and Madureira Station.
This is a shorter trip because the bus circulates in an exclusive lane that is not affected by traffic.
Careful not to take the TransCarioca line because this one stops at 47 stations along the way.
The Vicente de Carvalho Station its integrated with the Subway. But only worth it if your final destination is served by Metro and is outside the Premium bus circuit. The route may require tranfers which can be difficult with suitcases.
One more thing to remember: during rush hours the Subway is packed full!
BRT boarding platforms in RIOgaleão are located:
Terminal 1 – exiting by door H.
Terminal 2 – exiting through door D
