Known for serving the best pastel of Rio de Janeiro. (pastel is a typical brasilian fast-food, consisting of half-circle or rectangle-shaped thin crust shell with assorted fillings, fried in vegetable oil. The result is a crispy, brownish fried eggroll.) On the menu, besides the amazing snacks, you find 41 different fillings, like: Dos Deuses(from Gods) with brie , mozzarella, gorgonzola and parmesan . And 9 different sweet fillings , like Sonho de Valsa(very popular bonbon) and Nutela with fruit salad. It is mouthwatering.

Enchendo Linguiça (Filling sausage) is a brasilian popular expression that means “to kill time” or “fill an empty space with hocus-pocus”. In the case of the bar means to “fill empty spaces with sausage and chop well chilled”. The menu star is a novelty that gave the right: Schweinshaxe (Joelho de porco a cururuca) (Pig ‘s leg on pururuca way) made in a Grill Chicken Machine. Foi o sucesso do bar, restaurante e casa shows de música brasileira que ajudou a mudar a cara da região. No casarão antigo de dois andares funciona um antiquário. Mesas e cadeiras antigas ao lado de cristaleiras com objetos de época, lustres de cristal e quadros. Explore aqui este cenário fino e diferente em foto 360º. Os shows de música acontecem de terça a sábado, com uma apresentação principal e outras três ou quatro, que aos sábados termina depois das 04h da manhã. A comida é de primeira. Official bar of Antarctica beer (Brazilian’s best), it sits in an old house from the end  of the 19th century , the bar has limited capacity and reservation will help ensure the spot. The best on the menu are the snacks such as Pork Ribs with Barbecue Sauce. Highlights for Samba performances. In the days of important games the big TV screens attract many fans to the bar.

A place for those who like to listen to quality MPB(Brasilian Popular Music). Since 2000 the Carioca da Gema has marked its presence in the cultural scene of Lapa. Mixing a very elaborate menu, with dishes and hours d’ouvers of the highest quality, and shows by great performers, the house’s worth a visit.

Arco-Iris da Lapa

A bar that since 1960 has resisted the growth of the most upbeat bars. In the style of the old pubs,this bar is popular amidst the younger and turns out to be a meeting point for the people, before going to the clubs in the region. Its highlights are domestic and imported beers and appetizers, simple but tasty. Worth trying their soup such as the pumpkin with gorgonzola cheese.

How to get there?

Metrô

If you are close to a Metro station, go to the box office, buy your  round trip ticket, board the line 1 train  (the one with the red light on the side) get off at the Cinelândia station. To exit the platform , follow the signs to SAÍDA “D” – Passeio .

Outside the station go straight ahead. See the route on the map.

Bus

I do not advise the bus trip. With the changing routes of the bus lines, you’ll have to make at least one bus exchange to be able to get to the Lapa.  As you will be traveling at night, you may have problems at the time of exchange. Choose taxi or subway.
